Heading to Myrtle Beach in May, was wondering if anyone has been on the casino cruise. Also, how is the Carolina Opry?

Been on both! We have two...Sun Cruz and Southern Elegance. I enjoy Sun Cruz a bit better...like the staff, and it seems the machines are a bit kinder :)

Both will pick up and drop off at the Ocean front hotels..but you do need to make reservations if you want to utilize this service. Even if you dont gamble...its a great way to see the waterway, and the beach from a different perspective.

The Carolina Opry is always great! We have some great entertainment in the area!

Thank you for the info...Sun Cruz is the one I was thinking about. How far in advance do you need to make reservations for it?

Does anyone know the schedule for the casino cruise? Do they have a website?

You can actually make reservations the day before you decide to go (if they havent filled!) They do have a great website:

Just click on the Myrtle Beach location. It gives you alot of info...like the cruise schedule and bus schedule. You can even make advanced resv. online (except July thru Sept) A number of concierge desks have ';special'; coupons that will give you free boarding or free buffet..so you may want to wait til you get to your hotel and check. The many times I made resv. for people, I usually never had a problem with them being full. The bus does tend to fill quickly however.

The sail twice daily, 7 days a week. 11am (M-F) Noon (Sa-Su) then 7p evening with the weekend (fri and sat) coming in 1 hour later than thru the week. You cruise out to ';international waters'; before they allow you to gamble, but they have some great entertainment and pretty good buffet. Like I said, its a pretty good value for the $$ (as long as you dont lose it all at the tables! :) )

The Carolina Opry is an excellent show and I have also heard nothing but great things about it from other people.

I have been on the Sun Cruz Casino and had a fantastic time. You can pick up one of their brochures from many of the hotels or by calling them direct which on it has a coupon for $10 of free tokens and the buffet for free which was actually very good. You get free drinks as well as long as you are gambling. Enjoy!
