stayed at springmaid beach twice,never had any problems, is the crown reef or coral beach resort better, cleaner,nicer.We like that end of the beach, quieter.

The Crown Reef has really become dated. The outside still looks good, but they really havent put alot back into the inside. Plus, I never really understood having the resort office across the street from the resort...Coral Beach has gone thru some major renovations, both inside and out. They do have alot more ';bells and whistles'; than Springmaid. You may want to check out some of the reviews at the left on both properties. I do like the beach just south of Springmaid..nice and wide!

I completely agree with the Crown Reef being outdated and honestly the rooms are not very clean. I have heard both good and bad about Coral Beach. The Hampton Inn Oceanfront is a very nice resort with VERY clean rooms. They are located 1 mile north of Springmaid.

You are right, anybobnmb. Out of all the properties at the south end, I really like the Hampton OF. I know this sounds like a broken record, but it is a great property. Maybe a few more $$ than others, but its surely worth it. And the staff really make this place shine! :)

My mom stayed at Coral Beach and said the rooms was was outdated. The outside is nice but she said the inside anit. I think that Coral Beach is nicer because they have done the inside and out.

I said that my mom has stayed at Coral Beach apove but I meant to say Crown Reef there about the dirtyness. Sorry
