The Ashworth vs windy hills dunes wheelchair accessible to...

Hello

We visited MB last year and stayed in the windy hills dunes condo. WE loved that place. I have a daughter in a wheelchair and getting her to the beach is a big issue. There was a public access ramp right next to windy hills that I could take her down.

We are planning to go this year on may 27 and condoworld is telling us that is bikers weekend and we cant stay at windy hill but wants us to move to the Ashworth. I am very concerned as noone can seem to tell me if I can get a wheelchair from the hotel down on the beach and how far away a public ramp is if not.

Any help as to how hard it is to get down to the beach, steps, etc and how good the ashworth is would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Joy

I%26#39;m not sure about where the public access is in relation to the Ashworth but I do know it%26#39;s a very nice complex. We looked at a condo to buy there.

I have a condo at Crescent Shores that is available that week and the Public Access is right beside out building (to the right of building in picture). The elevators (3) are large, quick and quite and our condo is the 1st to the right of the elevators. I%26#39;ll do better than the listed price for the week if you%26#39;re interested.

';our'; in place of ';out'; in the above; I don%26#39;t review what I type very well

Joy,

As a note... the places you are talking about are in the city of North Myrtle Beach... not MB... it may help you as you are making your plans... It%26#39;s very confusing and I live there.. Anyway, there are public beach accesses at almost every street end in North Myrtle Beach. Some are wooden and others are sand...

I%26#39;ve not been inside, but from the exterior, the Ashworth looks great... it%26#39;s just a block down from Main Street (where there is a public beach access with a paved parking area)

Also - The City of North Myrtle Beach actually has beach wheelchairs that can be reserved to assist you with getting your daughter out to the beach... I think you reserve them through the Parks %26amp; Rec Dept....

Best of luck with your vacation plans!

Bonnie

The Ashworth looks great inside; one of the best in NMB or MB and Ocean Drive is a great location.

The week or weekend you are looking at is not a good time if you plan to travel around the beach. If you are just going to stay in the condo and do the beach thing, then stay at the Ashworth. Beach accsess is right next to the building. Any further south of there and you will have to deal with all the traffic from the Alatic City bike fest.
