ok experienced hliton headers!

My husband and i want to come to Hilton head at the end of June. Probably the last week. We are coming down on a time share tour for the surfwatch. We have 4 days with that package however would like to stay a couple extra nights extra. Unfortunatly we are unable to get a few extra nights on are own because they are already taken by time share owners. So........heres the puzzle. I want somewhere close to where we are staying so when we go Hilton head i can stay a few extra days then leave and go on to the resort for our 4 days. I want beachfront and a nice upscale newer place. Also i want to be able to get my husband out on a fishing trip somewhere. I would like to stay somewhere that offered fishing charters. We may not have a car but only a taxi because were are flying down from pennsylvannia. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated%26gt; I will take suggestions on where to stay and also considering myrtle beach instead%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Help someone!!! thanks a bunch

Here are two choices.

1 -The Hilton resort at Palmetto Dunes. The property is a suite hotel right on the ocean. Each room has a balcony with noce views of the best beach area on the island. You can take the Palmetto Dunes buggy to Shelter Cove where there are several fishing charter vessels available at the marina.

2 - The Inn at Harbor Town. This an upscale pricey resort property. It is not on the ocean, but you can get to the beach by taking the Sea Pines Trolley. You will be located in Harbour town, where you can walk to the Stan Smith tennis center, or the world famous Harbourtown golf course. It is also a short walk to the marina and it%26#39;s fleet of charter boats.

You will be unable to rent an oceanfront condo at this time of year, since almost all require a weekly rental during the summer.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Shipyard Plantation and it was wonderful, although we had booked through Hotwire as it is a pretty pricey hotel otherwise. Depending also on how much you want to spend on the fishing, there are boats that you can charter privately for at least $1000/day, or there is a group fishing boat that is located in South Beach in Sea Pines. We did that one and it was fun. They take you about thirteen miles out into the ocean.

Myrtle Beach vs. Hilton Head:

MB is cheaper by far. You can get a very nice ocean-front condo for under $100/night. MB is much more commercialized. HHI has taken pains to see that the island retains at least some of its natural feel. It is very dark at night, and there are virtually no neon lights, amusement parks, museums, etc. MB has busy four-lane highways that are crowded with fast food places, beachwear shops by the ton, dinner theaters, etc. MB caters to tourists looking for touristy things to do while HHI caters to people looking for a more toned down, relaxing vacation. Golf is very big at HHI.

Hope this helps!

You should look into the Weston or the Marriott beach and golf resort in Palmetto Dunes. Since you are coming on a Marriott Mini-vac, stop at Wal Mart or the Shelter Cove Mall and set up a time share tour with another resort. They will pay you at least $100 or more in cash. Best priced fishing charters are at Palmetto Bay Marina.
