We will be coming to Charleston mid to late May. Considering the following hotels. Indigo Inn, Holiday Inn Historic District, Hampton Inn Historic Distict, King Charles.
Hoping for a place that is within walking distance of sites, clean, adequate sized room, reasonably quiet and in a safe neighborhood.
Do any of these fit the bill?
Thanks for your help.

Indigo Inn- Nice, Clean and right in the heart of the historic district. It is nice to stay somewhere that is more historical and you get a more personable experience. Plus the breakfast and the wine and cheese is a nice added bonus!

My Husband and I have stayed in the Hampton Inn Historic District and found it to be a great value. The breakfast in the morning is the best continental breakfast I have ever seen at a mid-price hotel. The pool and courtyard are really beautiful and the rooms are big. The only drawback was a slight musty odor in the lobby--but, hey, it%26#39;s a HISTORIC musty odor, right? Although it is located on Meeting ST, the hotel is a few blocks from the Marketplace and shops, but is right next door to the visitors center.
Indigo Inn and King Charles are closer to the historic district than the other 2 options.
Keep in mind that May 26 - June 11 is the Spoleto USA Festival attracting visitors from around the world so hotel rooms/prices will be at a premium in the entire Charleston area.
