Myrtle Beach Directions

First time driving to Myrtle Beach and could use some help with directions. Leaving from Rome NY. on a Monday, spending one night on the road. Going to South Myrtle Beach. Any suggestions on routes and/or place to stay on the road? Thanks!

much is dependant on how many hours you will be on the road your first day as where to stay.assuming you will be traveling down I-95, and how much off 95 you are willing to stray ultimately determines recommendations for places to stay...

as for directions...again, assuming you are going for speed over scenary, then stick to 95. after crossing into SC (you can%26#39;t miss it..Pedro from South of the Border will give you plenty of notice), exit at 38E (the exit is 181-B i think). follow to 501 S. to avoid traffic and congestion in Conway, exit onto 22E. follow to Rte 31 S. you will find 22 %26amp; 31 a nice alternative to sticking to 501 into Myrtle Beach. depending on your final destination, you can take 31 all the way to the end and exit on 544 (Georgetown exit) or get off at Rte 501, dropping you into the heart of MB..follow Rte 544 to Rte 17 (approx 4 miles) you will either head south towards Georgetown/Pawleys/Litchfield, or north into the southern part of MB.
