If looking for a good dining experience on Shem Creek I would recommend either Water%26#39;s Edge or Vickery%26#39;s. Water%26#39;s Edge is by far the best on the creek. They have great Prime Rib large enough for any appetite as well as fresh local seafood. Vickery%26#39;s is Cuban and has a great variety of selections.

What is the name of the restaurant that is on the left side of the road in Shem%26#39;s Creek? It sits on the water, and is on the left side of the road (as you head out of Charleston into Shem Creek), and is right past a few of the infamous Shem Creek restaurants (which are on the right side of the road). Any help with the name?

I like the Trawler.
I like the Trawler.
The Trawler no longer exists, it went bankrupt. There is now a new restaurant in the building, have not heard anything about it.
Shem Creek Bar and Grill is on the left side of the road coming from Charleston headed toward Sullivan%26#39;s Island. Albert the bartender is an institution in his own rite. Try his famous Oyster Shooters! Love %26#39;em!
Thank you! That is where we ate, and it was FABULOUS! The mimosas and oyster shooters (though not together) were indeed wonderful.
Water%26#39;s Edge - I disagree: service bad (pompus, rude, snotty waitress; also, one entree was cold, and no offer to make up for/apologize for having to wait for my meal to be redone) and very overpriced. Also, on that particular day, a lot of very drunk patrons (apparently there was a wine tasting event prior, and these folks didn%26#39;t just taste, they drank (a lot). Very disappointing.
Vickery%26#39;s is excellent - great patio seats overlooking creek. Great food (I wouldn%26#39;t classify the restaurant as Cuban, though it has some Cuban dishes). Great Mojo chicken, chicken salad sandwiches, superb appetizers and desserts.
Away from Shem Creek, thought still in Mt. Pleasant, I recommend T-Bonz (with Kaminsky%26#39;s next door for desserts), and the Boulevard Diner (doesn%26#39;t look like much on outside, but OUTSTANDING local cuisine). Finally, for a great lunch to go for the beach, visit the Publix grocery store deli!
No one has mentioned RB%26#39;s at Shem Creek. I had some great shrimp and grits there a few weeks ago. Also, their mahi was outstanding!( I still think the best seafood in the area is at Gilligan%26#39;s). Best wishes.
kaminski%26#39;s has fantastic deserts. not to be missed!!!!!!!
