Dogs at HHI

I was wondering if anyone has taken his/her dog to Hilton Head Island. I found pet-friendly accomodations, but I was wondering if there are any activities/attractions that allow pets.

I%26#39;m not a golfer, so no interest in that, but I do like the beach. I heard that there were restrictions as to times (only early mornings and evenings.) That would be fine, since those are the coolest times anyway. Are there sand fleas that will bother the dog?

Any restaurants with outdoor seating allowing dogs?

The only restaurant I know on the island which accepts dogs is Parrot Cove in shelter Cove, but you must sit outdoors with the pet.
