okay one last question...is the landmark as bad as the reviews say? I was there 6 years ago and it was nice. but the reviews say a lot of bad things! thanks in advance for your help!
Landmark?
If you%26#39;re fussy, I would not stay there. If you are on a budget, want the biggest indoor pool complex in town, and can overlook a few cosmetic ';issues';, then go for it.
In my opinion, many of the loudest complainers should have spent more money for a higher-class establishment. They usually never mention the rates at the Landmark are maybe a third of those where they ended up.
Not everyone has the same expectations...that is why you must read the reviews carefully to determine if what upset the reviewer would bother you.
Landmark?
I didn%26#39;t stay at the Landmark but I did stay nearby. While walking the beach at night I noticed that the Landmark guests present what may be the largest illegal fireworks show. It happened nightly and looked very dangerous. I saw assorted fireballs bounce off of Landmark balconies and land in the pool.
I never saw Landmark personnel do anything to stop this. I did see arrests on two occasions right behind the Landmark for fireworks.
I have to agree with padd ~
If you are on a budget and can deal with little things ~ go for it. But if you are picky ~ about cleanliness ~ updated items ~ noise in the hall~ look elsewhere. I am one of those picky ones ~ we stayed at the Landmark about 2 yrs ago. I would not stya there again. I did not like ~ having to park across the street and then not having a cart to carry our bags ~ the slowness of the elevators ~ no daily maid service ~ very slow checkin. But I guess you get what you pay for...
Good Luck!
I sometimes feel that some of the people on here who write reviews just like to complain about every little thing. However, from many accounts, I have heard that the Landmark is rapidly going downhill and could use some TLC. The staff/management are not the best and overall, the hotel has lots of maintainance issues that could probably easily be taken care of if the management would realize (and acknowledge) that such problems exist. If you to stay at a hotel that is very well-maintained, has friendly staff members, and that has nice, clean, and updated rooms, then the Landmark is definitely not the place for you. My suggestion would be to seriously consider staying somewhere else if that is possible and use the Landmark as a last resort.
