where do you stay %26amp; for how long?
where do you dine/shop/go for entertainment?
Any MB ';snowbirds'; on this forum?
Hampton Inn %26amp; Suites Oceanfront has a wonderful ';snowbird'; program. The rooms are spotless and absolutely gorgeous! They do a potluck dinner and movies once a month. Different outing are planned...shows, dinner cruises, ladies lunch, winery tours, day trips to Charleston or Wilmington, etc. Not the cheapest in MB but every penny is worth it. (877)-946-6400.
Any MB ';snowbirds'; on this forum?
We are ';semi'; snowbirds as we can%26#39;t stay the entire winter. We always stay at Kingston Plantation. They have every type of accomodation available and the rates are great for the winter.
We eat at Southern Market for lunch a lot. We love Collector%26#39;s Cafe, Greg Norman grill, Bonefish Grill, and this year plan to try Hamburger Joes.
Today we found an unbelievable Christmas store. Callahan%26#39;s in Calabash, just north of Myrtle Beach. We travel all over and have NEVER seen anything like this store. Even though we%26#39;re ready to put Christmas away this store was worth the stop. Be sure to go across the street to Calabash Creamery for wonderful homemade ice cream.
(They%26#39;ll be closed the 1st 2 weeks in January)
Filet%26#39;s Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach is very good and the view is very pretty.
There are a lot of people at Kingston that stay for 1 to 2 months. The health club here is a great way to meet people. I think it%26#39;s only $20 to join for one month.
Can%26#39;t wait till we can stay for the whole winter at the beach!
lillious= Next time your in town try Villa Mare restaurant at 79th and 17th and Landry%26#39;s at Broadway A.T.B.
Hi tonymik
We do love Landry%26#39;s too! I actually have a rainforest cafe discount card which includes Landry%26#39;s. I%26#39;ve heard about Ville Mare but have yet to try it. Do want to go there!
There is a good list on this forum about restaurants in Myrtle Beach. Just type in restaurants in the forum box.
I am not yet retired but work outdoors %26amp; am unable to work when we have cold snaps...that is when we head to MB for two or three weeks. I know many people would never consider going to a beach resort when it%26#39;s cold out but the prices sure are unbeatable and the indoor pool complexes are the next best thing to being outside.
I wish I could find a winter job there, we would gladly spend the whole winter then.
I have a great spot available Dec. - Feb. or 2006 -07. Can send pictures.
Are there any snowbirds out there who stay at Forest Dunes?
