My Mate and myself will be going to Myrtle Beach for the first time in late March. Can someone tell me about the weather at this time and where the best place to stay is.
First tripRead thru the other posts here. There is lots of information that would be very helpful.
Weather in March may be a little chilly. Just bring a sweater for long walks on the beach.
There are so many hotels to choose from in Myrtle Beach. Look at the list to the left of this screen. Click on a few of the hotels and check them out. I%26#39;ve stayed at Carolina Winds and Ocean Forest Plaza. Enjoyed both of them very much.
First tripPlenty of good options in March and the weather could vary by 40 degrees or more in early March; one never knows? The average high for all of March is 66 degrees; catch a cold front and it could snow and catch a warm one and it could reach 80 or more. Generally a good golf month on calm days, less windy days.
You know, it is a bit cool to us regulars here at the beach in March, but you would be amazed at some folks who come down from different areas and will actually get in the water! Brrrrr....
The sun is usually warm that time of year, and even if it is a bit chilly, and you want to lay on the beach, check with the lifeguard about getting a ';windhut';. Once you have that sun warming you up without the seabreeze, you%26#39;d be amazed at how fast the temp goes up.
As far as where to stay...as the others have stated, this forum and website is a great place to research that. Once you find something that looks good, ask about it in the forum. There are so many places here, and all different price ranges. One good thing about March are that the rates havent gone up yet for season.
THe avg temp for March is 65-72 degress.
I would stay in Coral Beach Resort if I were you. THey have everything there so you don%26#39;t need to leave the hotel for anything. It is the CLEANEST hotel in MB. Here is there website. http://www.myrtlebeach-resorts.com/cb/
Do you really think those avg are right? I would say maybe avg is 55 to maybe 65. Granted we have had a few 70+ days here and there, but I dont think enough to inflate the numbers by that much. Guess I usually go by www.wundergroun.com they seem to be more realistic.
Thank you everyone for your replys. They have been very helpful. We have decided to go later on in the year. Sometime after Sept. Thanks again.
The best place to stay is Hampton Inn %26amp; Suites Oceanfront! Rated #1 in MB and by all means they deserve it! Very clean rooms, excellent breakfast, very friendly staff and free internet access. www.hamptoninnoceanfront.com.
September in Myrtle is wonderful! My favorite time of year here! Its still nice and warm thru the day and at night you may need a lite jacket or sweater (and sometimes you dont!). The crowds have dwindled, and it just seems that a quiet calm comes over everyone that works and lives here. I think, blueeyedangel, that is a great decision!
MBC them temps are from weather.com I was just puting that trying to help out. O%26#39;well
