Just looking for opinions on Ocean Creek Resort - has anyone stayed there during July? We have two boys, 16 and 20, and they would like to stay somewhere where there%26#39;s people and activity. Do families with older kids stay at this resort, and are the beach club amenities/beach too far or inconvenient from the condo buildings? We%26#39;ve been spoiled by always staying in places where the building is much closer to the pools and beach, but looks like a potentially fun place to stay. Any thoughts?
Ocean Creek Resort - Any Opinions?
July is a busy time at the beach no matter where you stay. Ocean Creek is a well kept property with alot to do (you may want to check out some of the reviews on this site). I would say it would be a good choice for your family, and with Barefoot Landing being just across the street for evening activities...I%26#39;m sure you and the boys will find plenty to do! The beach in that area is usually busy --- and Apache Pier isnt a bad walk for another place to meet people. Barefoot Landing would have House of Blues, Alligator Adventure (really cool) a number of restaurants, shopping, entertainment and boat tours on the waterway.
Have a great time!
Ocean Creek Resort - Any Opinions?
I%26#39;m also looking at a completely renovated 2-bdrm/2-bath at Kingston Plantation in one of the lodge buildings with a lake and ocean view from the deck and approx 100 yards from the beach. I%26#39;ve seen pictures of the room, but haven%26#39;t seen pictures yet of the view or exactly how it is situated on the property. How does this development compare to Ocean Creek? Like most places, I%26#39;ve seen positive and negative reviews.
Kingston is really a great resort. I think some of the negative comments you have seen may be from those not staying in one of the villas, but at the hotel complex. I think it compares pretty evenly to Ocean Creek. They have a great fitness center, tennis courts, waterpark and of course the beach. You may want to check out the resort map at

They are still reasonably close to Barefoot Landing for any shopping, dining and entertainment needs! :)
