Where should we stay

We are visiting relations in NC in June but first we would like to stop off at a beach resort in SC. Can anyone give us some advice on the best places to stay we have looked at Hilton Head Island and Myrtle beach but need some help. We are looking for a nice beach, somewhere not too busy but where we can walk to a bar or restaurant in the evenings. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks

Where should we stay

Charleston SC has some really nice beaches and lacks the large amounts of people you see in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head areas. We have enjoyed Isle of Palms and the Mount Pleasent area beaches. In these pleaces you can still find sea shells and enjoy a quiet walk on the beach.Make your reservations early anywhere you decide to stay in June. All beach areas fill up early. My husband and I travel to Charleston about 5 times a year and to Myrtle Beach once in the winter time. Too many people in the summer for us at Myrtle Beach.

Where should we stay

I am a Myrtle Beach local. I have two suggestions. The Myrtle Beach Marriott is located at the northern end of a residential area. This is probably the least crowded section of the beach. Unless you go to the hotel bar and restaurant, though, anything else will be a short drive. Collector%26#39;s Cafe and Bonefish grill are excellent restaurants within 2 miles of the hotel. Both have bars inside. And Liberty Taproom, a micro-brewery, is also nearby.

The second is Litchfield Beach and Golf. This is where my fiance and I stay when we need a little get-away. It%26#39;s a nice sized resort with its own restaurant and bar. The only people with access to this part of the beach must stay within the resort. Litchfield also has several nice restaurants within a short drive.

fripp island is paradise on earth with just enough culture not to be overly refined.

Many thanks for your suggestions, they are really helpful - we still haven%26#39;t made any definite decisions yet except that we are going to spend the first two nights in Charleston.

I can help you Susan; I%26#39;m from NC and have vacationed in the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach) area for over 50 years. I own a couple of possibilities and would be glad to send you information. They may or may not fit your needs? It will be busy however in June; everywhere on the coast of North or South Carolina is during the summer months. I also do a lot of ocean fishing from Hatteras, Morehead City, Swansboro, Wilmington, Charleston, Little River.....they%26#39;re all BUSY in June!

Thanks gonefishin !!! any information that you can send would be much appreciated.
