Why doesn't everybody go to Myrtle Beach on Spring Break?

Is the weather too cold or what?

Yes, I suppose the weather can be a little chilly in March or April, depending on when Spring Break is.

You are more likely to have better, warmer weather in Florida that time of year.

Why doesn't everybody go to Myrtle Beach on Spring Break?

It%26#39;s all relative to what your idea of cold is! Our spring break (april) is when 1/2 of our town flocks to Myrtle Beach! And it%26#39;s a 12 hour drive! We know it may be chilly but the sun will shine and after months and months of grey skies and plenty of snow we can%26#39;t wait to get in our cars! That%26#39;s not to say that some of us opt for Florida sometimes too. Or a cruise for fun. But most of the people in our area go to Myrtle Beach.

It is very cold in March and most of April. Ocean and pools too cold to swim in. Most of the time, it%26#39;s too cold to even walk on the beach, when you consider strong breezes coming off the ocean. We have a house there, but we go to the Bahamas, Caribbean or out west skiing for spring break. This year we%26#39;re going to Florida. It really must be miserably cold up north to drive 12 hours to MB.

Yes, way too cold!

We go to MB every Spring Break and LOVE it. We too drive 13 hours but the drive isn%26#39;t that bad. We swim not only in the heated pools but mainly in the ocean. We come home tanned, rested and happy.

Weather in March and April is comfortable. Average high/low for March is 68/44 and April 75/50. Ocean water is very cool coming off of the winter months, but air temp is great. If you are looking for hot temps and warm water, not the place in Spring. If want comfortable air temp (great for golfing and beach walks), can%26#39;t beat the Spring.
