long bay oceanfront suite good/bad ??

Has anyone stayed at Long bay resort and had a oceanfront 2 rm suite?? I am afraid that our view wont be so good. I see the pics of the resort and think about those 2 smaller buildings being in our view! Please tell me it will be decent! My first time visiting and want to have a nice time.

You are wise to check this out....the oceanfront suite we were assigned was behind that exact building you are talking about!

I was shocked %26amp; angry!!! Long Bay didn%26#39;t have another o/f suite available. They were very nice %26amp; immediately refunded our money. We moved right next door to the Ocean Reef. But would have been in a jam if they were full up! Luckily we were visitng in September...otherwise, we might have been stuck in that room.

Aside from that the room seemed clean %26amp; decent.

sopranofreak---I am very interested to hear this...now did you have a unobstructed view 2 rm suite reserved? Or did you have a obstructed oceanfront view reserved. I know there is a difference and when I spoke to the reservation girl she mentioned that what i reserved being an unobstructed view I would be safe, now i am worried. Did you have any view at all or was that building in front of your window? Thanks for your help, I might just change my hotel as well.

Hummmmm, I was not warned at all that the view was obstructed. If it%26#39;s not reservation policy it certainly should be. Maybe I just got an inexperienced reservationist.

We could see the sky %26amp; a bit of the water but the view was definitely what I would call ';major obstructed';.

It was two years ago so I don%26#39;t remember exactly...but I think we had reserved a suite. Although it could have been an efficiency. Wouldn%26#39;t swear to either.

The problem wasn%26#39;t that they didn%26#39;t have unobstructed view rooms but they had none available. I think they would have been willing to move us if one was available.

I was upset because I think the reservationist should have warned us %26amp; then we had to scramble to find another place to stay. Not the best circumstance after a 10-11 hour trip!

Wish I had know about trip-advisor then.

p.s. I wouldn%26#39;t be afraid to stay at Long Bay if I was assured that the view wasn%26#39;t obstructed. It seemed like a decent place, otherwise.

thank you very much sopranofreak for your guidance on this issue. I have called and made sure that my room was unobstructed and was assured with my reservation request stating that. I have a hard copy! Must have these days. I feel better knowing that I have spoken with the resort and are guaranteed this room.
