I just read a review for the downtown Holiday Inn where the user sites an island lighthouse excursion as one of the best part of his or her trip. Does anyone know off hand what this lighthouse trip is all about?
Thanks!

That would be my boat tour out to the Morris Island lighthouse. Go to www.follybeachcharters.net and visit my website. You can reach me at 843-270-4464 or captgresh@bellsouth.net. Thanks!

thanks, capn%26#39;! Your tour sounds like a lot of fun. Hope to see you this summer!
We stayed @ Folly Beach this past summer... and thought we would walk over to the light house.
NOT!!!!!!!!!!
We will def invest in the boat tour. If you did manage to walk over to the island only while the tide is down ~ you will get stuck over there @ high tide.
Let us know how it is and take some pictures when you go.
BTW ~ in my icon.. that is the Morris Lighthouse from the beach...
well I will be in charleston next weekend. It will be a quick trip, so I am not sure if we will be able to fit it in, but do y%26#39;all think this is a good time of the year to go out in a boat?
Well ~ it really depends on our unpredicatable weather. One day its 50 ~ the next day its 72. I would think you need to devote atleast 3 hours to doing something like that. If this is your first time to Charleston... you might want to hold off until next time. Hope you have fun!!
We visited the Lighthouse in January. Four of us went with ';Captain'; Gresh, it was a sunny cold day, but he made sure we were warm by covering us with a ';comforter'; on his little speed boat. It was an amazing trip, to see the Dolphins playing around the boat and visiting the oyster beds on the way. The island and lighthouse were just something else, seems so isolated and wonderful at the same time, watching the tide come in and collecting sand ';dollars';.Our ';Captain'; returned to collect us before light faded.';wonderful';.
