We are planning to stay on Hilton Head for two weeks in the summer. Does any one have a favorite place to stay? Such as, Is there a preference between sea pines and forest beach? We are going for the golf and the beach, so we want to be as close to the beach as possible without forking out tens of thousands of dollars. would fourth row be sufficient without requiring rest stops before arriving at the beach?
Where to stay on Hilton Headi travel frequently (5-6 times per year) to hilton head for both work and pleasure. when traveling with friends, i usually try to stay in sea pines. while a LOT of the properties in forest beach are undergoing extensive remodels or tear downs and rebuilds, some of the properties are quite old and a little run down. sea pines is a gated resort and has rigourous controls over architecture and upkeep of the properties. you will probably pay more in sea pines, but i feel it is definitely worth it. sea pines central reservations is always quite helpful when planning your stay.
the lots near the beach are about 100%26#39; deep, so fourth row would only be about 400%26#39; from the beach...so not a bad walk at all...in fact if you%26#39;re lucky you may have an ';ocean glimpse'; sea pines houses near the ocean have private beach walks between each street, so you aren%26#39;t schlepping your stuff down the middle of the road.
Where to stay on Hilton HeadIf you are inclined towards the beach, consider Palmetto Dunes. There are more nice oceanfront Condos available there than anywhere else on the island.
Condos to consider that are oceanfront complexes are VillaMare, Captains Walk, The Hamptons, The Barringtons, The Windsors, also look at the Moorings across the road from the beach.
In Forest Beach the best is the SeaCrest, also consider Shorewood or Ocean One. Less expensive and older is the Breakers.
In Seapines the Turtle Bay Club, and South Beach Tennis are the top rated Ocean Oriented Villa Complexes. Less Expensive and a short walk to the ocean is the Plantation Club, or Night Heron
