Thanks for reply AmySC. First visit to HH and am trying to find out: things to do, where to eat, places to visit etc. Would hate to visit and find out later we missed anything we should have seen or done. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Dinner at Old Fort Pub (fantastic sunset views)

Stroll around Harbor Town, enjoy a drink and watch the sunset

I%26#39;ll try to answer you, but need to know about what you want. What type of food do you like? What is your budget? what timeshare? Are you interested in tennis, golf, sightseeing, shopping?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for not replying sooner. We will be on a medium budget. We are staying at Swallowtail @ Sea Pines. Are completely unfamiliar w/area and have been searching for info. Not sure how the ';Plantation'; works. Are interested in sightseeing, shopping, walking/cycling, reasonably priced places to eat and an occassional higher end one. Like seafood, as we live in Iowa and pork is good, but fresh seafood isn%26#39;t very common and we love it. Also any suggestions on local foods we should try. Also plan to go to Savannah for 1-2 days.

Will have rental car and would be interested in sights to see including State and Natl. Parks or Reserves near HH. Also scenic cruise and maybe a fishing trip. Would appreciate any tips you could share and look forward to our trip. It is the last week in April (21-28)

Plantation in our town is just another name for a gated community. Sea Pines is the largest on the island. It covers 1/3 of our developed areas. Swallow tail is a short ride up from Harbor town and is near Sea Pines Center shopping area. There you will find Giuseppi%26#39;s Pizza, Truffles, and Dunstans. You will find restaurants also in Harbor Town, a short bike ride from Swallowtail.

Cafe Europa, The Crazy Crab, CQ%26#39;s, and The Quarter Deck, can be found there.

In South Beach you have The Salty dog Cafe.

Other Seafood Restaurants I recommend are

The Sea Shack, Boathouse Grill, Prescotts, Old Oyster Factory, and Steamers.

If you go to Savannah, try the Lady and Sons. The owner Laura Dean is a regular on the Food Channel. They do not take reservations. Stay away from ';The Pirates House';. the building housed an Inn which R. L. Stevenson used as the model for the Admiral Ben Bow Inn in Trasure Island. However the food is Bad,bad, BAD! They do have an upstairs cocktail lounge which is nice though. Emma Kelly used to play there before she passed away.
