We will be on Kiawah in May and would like to have lunch in a simple restaurant, nothing fancy, just for burgers and fries, or fish %26amp; chips. Is this possible or are there only posh restaurants on this island? What is the name of the new shoppingmall at the entrance of Kiawah?

I can%26#39;t remember the name of the complex, but it can%26#39;t be missed. It is located right off the new roundabout, in between the entrances for Kiawah and Seabrook. It isn%26#39;t a shopping mall per se, but more of a strip mall with a high-end grocery store (which is really just a glorified Piggly Wiggly per our check card receipt), an outdoor supply store, a coffeeshop, some high-end boutiques, a german bakery, and a soda fountain (hamburgers, fries, etc). There are a few restaurants about a tenth of a mile from the complex towards Seabrook. They are higher-end seafood/american cuisine. I am sure that the new hotel in Kiawah called the Sanctuary has a nice restaurant as well, though we didn%26#39;t check it out. Enjoy!

The new shopping area at the entrance to Kiawah is named Freshfields. For the lunch you are describing, I would try Rosebank Farms located at Bohicket Marina which is about 1/4 mile on the right toward Seabrook Island. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. There are also several shops at the marina. On Kiawah there are several moderately priced places for lunch including Shrimper%26#39;s at the Straw Market next to the old Inn, Town Center Market at East Beach Village next to the Resort rental check-in, and snack bars at Turtle Point, Osprey Point and The Ocean Course golf courses. Have fun!
